Last week I went to get my hair colored. Although my hair stylist did what I asked, I was not real happy with it. Sometimes this happens, and it really sucks. So, then next day I decided I would try to even out the color with a box kit. I do not remember the brand, but the color was a little more lively. I still was not happy. My hair was an ugly color, over processed, dry and dead looking. The day after that, I had another appointment to get my hair re-done. However, I started worrying about whether or not I was going to kill my hair for good!
I decided to try and condition my hair instead and to color it in a week or so if I still wanted to. This was the best decision I could have made! I researched some home remedies for dry hair and decided to do an Olive Oil treatment. I wish I had taken a before picture, but you will just have to live with the after picture. The transformation was amazing. I plan to do this every other week or so just to re-hydrate my hair.
I ended up loving the color and I think my hair really just needed to be conditioned and rejuvenated!

If you have dry ends, just use the oil on your ends. I do think I used too much on my roots, but still I will do this again.
What you will need:
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- A bowl
- A microwave
- Aplastic bag
- A towel
- Shower after
Instructions:
1. Put about 1/4 cup of olive oil in a bowl. Heat for about 20 seconds or until warm to touch.
2. Dip hair ends in olive oil and massage oil through hair. Work up to the roots adding more oil as necessary. This step is a little messy so you may want a towel around your shoulders. I ended up just pouring some oil on the top of my head to get all areas covered.
3. After oil is massaged in from root to tip (or just ends if you are skipping roots) wrap your head with the plastic bag or plastic wrap. For obvious reasons, please do not cover your face... only your head. Come on people. :-)
4. Wrap your head then with the towel and wait for 30 minutes (I would do about 5-10 minutes more for thick hair)
5. Remove the towel and plastic and rinse hair. Then, shampoo hair to remove the oil. You may need to shampoo more than once. For instance, I shampooed my hair 2 times.
6. Condition hair and really let the conditioner soak in for a minute or two... massaging your scalp while it is in.

After washing my hair I wrapped my hair in a towel and let towel dry and air dry for the most part. I did end up blow drying a little bit at the end. I then straightened my hair, but obviously you do not have to do this. Have fun and good luck!!!
MY hair after:
Pretty!! I'll have to try this out when I have a free afternoon. :)
